Abstract Evaluate the short term effect of menisectomy with interpositional temporalis muscle flap in management of advanced internal derangement. Methods: Twelve patients received interpositional temporalis muscle flap. Maximum interincisal opening (MIO) and visual analog scale (VAS) were recorded preoperatively, 2 and 6months postoperatively. Results: The present study showed significant increase in MIO and decrease in VAS scores. Conclusion: Interpositional temporalis muscle flap is reliable and effective treatment for advanced stages of anterior disc displacement without reduction. |
