Abstract

This in vitro study was carried out on 110 rats male Sprague-
Dawley rats weighting 200-250 gm used in this experiment. The
rats were obtained from the Central Animals House of Faculty of
Veterinary Medicine, Zagazig University. Animals are maintained
in stainless steel cages in the biochemistry Department under
hygienic condition. The animals received standard rats pellet diet
and water ad-libitum for 15 days before the experiment for
adaptation.
Experimental design:
Rats under study were classified as follows:
Group I (Control group): comprised of 10 rats, received no
drugs and get free access to water and food.
Group II (Lead acetate group): comprised of 100 rats, injected
intraperitoneally with lead acetate for 5 days consecutively at
a dose of 50 mg /Kg Body weight.
After 5 days of injection, 10 rats were scarified, which used
as (Control positive group), 90 rats from this group were rested,
theses rats would be treated with different costus speciosus
extracts as illustrated in group III.
