Abstract

The present study was carried out to evaluate the influence of the force magnitude on intrusion and root resorption of the mandibular canines. The sample was consisted of 10 adult patients (5 males & 5 females). They had dental deep bite that required intrusion of the lower anterior and canines, lingual arch was made to reinforce anchorage. After bonding of the lower canines. The intrusive spring was fabricated using TMA wire. Utilizing the tension gauge unilateral force of 100g will be applied in the lower right canine, while a force of 50g will be applied in contra lateral canines. The patient was seen every three weeks for three months to check the intrusive spring placement and for its adjustment. Each patient was referred for a CBCT scan before start of any orthodontic treatment, and 3 month after the application of intrusive springs on lower canines, in order to evaluate the difference amount of intrusion and root resorption.
