Abstract The present thesis shows the experimental results which indicate that the refrigeration system performance is strongly related to the refrigerant mass charge. It also studies factors affecting the mass of the refrigerant such as evaporator pressure, condenser pressure and load. from literature survey, the previous works showed the different methods of the refrigerant mass charge evaluation. Also showed the comparison among different refrigerants to improve the performance of the refrigeration systems. By using mathematical study, one of the previous researches showed the relation between the refrigerant mass charge and the coefficient performance. The present study shows that the coefficient of performance related to the refrigerant type, the refrigerant mass charge and the charging conditions. The experimental results of the refrigerants R22, R134a and R404A indicate that in the early stage of the increase in the refrigerant mass charge, a sharp rise the coefficient of performance was observed. The coefficient performance reached the peak value at the optimal refrigerant mass charge, and then decreased with further increase in the refrigerant mass charge. |
