Abstract

This work covers two aspects of microwave communication technology. The first is the miniaturization of Microstrip Patch Antenna by using Ground Plane Slot(GPS) and the second aspect is the design and analysis of new UWB Printed monopole antenna with dual band frequency notch function to prevent the interference between the UWB signal with the other RF communication signals.
We have introduced a resonating slot into the ground plane of the microsetrip patch antenna to increase the electrical length of the antenna and decrease its physical length by amount of 50% of its conventional length without GPS. Also, we have introduced a new method to decrease the length of GPS that by inserting two lumped capacitor with capacitance of 0.9PF into the GPS which decreases the length of the slot by amount of 16% of its conventional length without slot.
