Abstract Anaemia remains a widespread public health problem with major consequences for human health as well as social and economic development. In spite of this development, anaemia, particularly attributed to iron deficiency, among infants, preschool children and women of childbearing age has remained a widespread public health problem ACC/SCN, (٢٠٠٠). Iron deficiency anemia (IDA) is the most common nutritional deficiency worldwide. It can cause reduced work capacity in adults and impact motor and mental development in children and adolescents. IDA may affect visual and auditory functioning and is weakly associated with poor cognitive development in children Ahluwalia, (٢٠٠١) |
