Abstract
RP is considered to be the best operation for UC & FAP. Its role is established. Its functional outcome in satisfactory for patients. Mortality of this operation in nearly zero, but it, still, has a good percentage of morbidity. Increased experience and continuous development of surgical instruments, however, help in decreasing morbidity of the operation. Good selection and preparation of the patients, highly experienced surgeon with a good surgical techniques and a good postoperative care and challenging against complications guarantee the best functional outcome.
Efforts in developing laparoscopic RP may help greatly in improving quality of life.
In conclusion, inspite of its morbidity, RP is the best surgical choice for patients with UC & FAP.
