Abstract
Onion thrips, Tj tabaci Lind. and onion fly,
flmia antijia Meig. are considered the uiost important economic pests which attack onion crop in U.A1i.
The present work was carried out in an attempt to embrace certain aspects with the endeavour of providing a base for a successful control proramrae.
The main points of this work are as follows
a— An investiaation to study thu ecological relationship of Thrips tabaci Lind. and the prevailing weather
factors in field situation.
b— An evaluation of the effectiveness of certain side treatments and the comparative efficiency of some recent organic insecticides.
c— A brief note on certain biological concepts 0±’ Hylemia aflti5Ua Meig. under the insectary conditions.
The conclusion achieved in this thesis are
summarized as follows
1. The simultaneous off eat of certain weather factors on the activity of Thrips tabaci Lind. nymphs
The weather factors considered in the present work
are the daily—mean temperature, daily—mean soil temperaturo.
