Abstract
Nintey-sex albino male rats at the age of 68 to 80 days, weighing between 90 and 100 g. These rats were classified into three groups each 32 housed separately in cages, each cage contains 8 rats and individual food and water suplies libitum and 12 hour periods of alternate light and darkness. Control group: was received tap water and standard fodder, while group (2): was received tap water containing 0.01 % (w/v) 6-n-propyl-2-thiouracil for three months in order to induce hypothyroidism, and group (3): was received thyroxine added fodder (50 Jlg/100 g body weight) for three months in order to induce hyperthyroidism. The results revealed that the administration of thiouracil or eltroxin in rats led to some hemostatic and metabolic or bleeding tendency and to attain normal metabolic functions, so that, it is worth to treat hypothyroidism or hyperthyroidism patients to avoid bleeding or thrombotic tendency.
