Abstract Examination of 96 broiler meat and liver samples for detection antimicrobial residues by a modified plate method, revealed 13.5% breast samples contained B-Iactam residues, 2.1% contained Iycoside residues, 3.1 % liver samples contained aminoglycoside and B-Iactam in combination. % breast samples contained B-lactam and aminoglycoside combination, while tetracycline, B- and aminoglycoside combination found in 1 % liver samples, while antimicrobial residues in samples were not detected and quinolones were not detected in any of the samples. The , tion of ninety six cloacal swabs of the same chicken revealed 86 E. coli isolate, its ltibility test by disc diffusion technique revealed high average group resistance for tetracycline, aminoglycoside and quinolone 89.4%, 78%, 60% and 68% respectively. Relation between and increased resistance was observed. |
