Abstract SUMMARY The present study was carried out at the I3ani Morr stat— ; of Friesian cattle located near Assiut (About 3Km.). The ilection of date lasted for six months; from June through gust in the summer of 1981 and from November through January I the winter of 1902. The numbers of animals used for this investigation were during summer and 59 during winter season. The animals were vided according to their sex, age and physioloqical statues to 7 separate groups. Group 1: Lactntinq non—pregnant cows (No. 20) Group 2: Preqnant non—lactating cows (No. 25) Group 3: Dry non—pregnant cows (No. 21) Croup 4: Male calves, 0—12 months old (No. 20) Group 5: Female calves, 8—12 months old (No. 19) Group 6: Male calves, 4—fl months old (No. 10). Group 7: Female calves, 4—8 months old (No.10) All the animals under investigation were loose housed semi—open sheds. The following are the major results obtained from this earch: Lmotic conditions in the farm (Assiut) There were great seasonal and diurnal differences in the Lmatic conditions in Assiut province.
