Abstract
The present investigation was carried out at Mallawi ricultura1 Research Station, Agricultural Research Center, :ypt, during 1983/84, 1984/85 and 985/86 seasons.
The objectives of the present investigation were to udy the genetic system controlling morpho—physiological aits, yield and its components and quaLity character— ;tcs.
Six faha bean, VcAa aba L., cultivars were used in ‘is study included the three Egyptian local genotypes,
e. Giza 2, Giza 402 and Rebaya 40, and three introduct— ns, i.e. T.w, Aquadulce and Reina blanca. The six rental varieties were grown in the first season, 1983/84 an insect proof green house at Mallawi Agric. Res. ation. The full diallel set of crosses was carried out obtain the F1 seeds. To increase the F1 hybrid seeds, other set of crosses was carried out again in the sam eenhouse at Mallawi in the second season, 1984/85. Also, me seeds from each F1—hybrid were grown in an insect oof greenhouse to produce the F2 generation seeds. reover, in 1983/84 and 1984/85 seasons, the parents were aluated in four replicates in a randomized complete blocks sign. In the third season of 1985/86, a field experi— nt was conducted included the six parents, F1 hybrids and populations in a randomized complete blocks design with
