Abstract
Athough the litrature is repelte with phycico-chemical studies of benzene and its derivatives, relatively few such studies are found for naphthalenes. In naphthalenes there are many combinations between positions of the gorup and reaction center. Also the presence of naphthalene moiety in an ester molecule will bring about very different effects than those expected in the benzene derivative. Consequently, a study of the effet of the presence of naphthly moiety will be of interset from the chemical as well as the physical point of view.
