Abstract

85 isolates of Ps. aeruginosa were detected from 450 dead (Payoumi) chicken—enibryos collected from Governomezital and balady hatcheries at Kena Province, in additon 75, 20 isolates of the same organism were recovered 400, 100 samples of baby—chicks and older chickens respectively. The samples were obtained from different Governomental farms.
Pathogenicity tests in 7—days old chicken—embryos by yolk—sac inoculation or dipping an broth—culture of Ps. aeruginosa proved that the organism was highly pathogenic, with nortality rate varied from 80—to 100 %.
The experimental infection in 3—days old chicks by different doses, revealed that the subcutaneous route of inoculation was highly effective with mortality percent varied from 1332 to 100 %, while oral route and intra — nasal infections were almost similar and the mortality rate ranged from 0 az 6.6 %. Reisolation of the inoculated organism,, and the macro and. microscopic examifl4tiOfls of the dead embryos, and chicks were conducted,
In vitro sensitivity test of the isolated . aeruinosa revealed that’ the isolates were sensitivø to Garamycin, treptornyoin, Chlorampheniool, Colistin, Anikin and Neomycit. Moderate degree of sensitivity was reported against Nitrof— urantion, Suiphamethoxazole—trimethobrini, C.a! oxtin, and liomycin, while the tested isolates were either week
aensitive or complete resistant to Oleandomycin, Oxytet— racycline, Erythromycin, Ampicillin and Penicillin.
