The following dimensions were measured; dorsoventral, mediolatral and anteroposterior dimensions of the fibrous coat as weU as the outer and inner dorsoventral and mediolateral dimensions of the cornea also the plain, weight and volume of the fibrous coat, cornea and sciera were recorded. The morphormetric study of this work ncftides aso the different dimensions of the scieral shelf which are the plain as well as the length of its dorsal, ventra’, medial and ateral extensions. In addition to its outer and inner circumferences (which represent the inner and outer circumferences of the cornea respecfively). The circumference and the plain of the area cribrosa and the optic disc were also recorded. The morphometric studies indude a’so the thickness of the cornea and its different layers centrally and peripherally as well as that of the scera, anterior’y, at the middle and posteriorly. This study extends to include the histological structure of the cornea peripherally and centrally as well as the sciera in all studied animals. Moreover the surface of the cornea were examined by scanning EM. The obtained measurements of the different items of this work were recorded in (17) tables and represented by (78) histogrames. |
