Abstract Conservation of the vitality and health of the dental pulp is one of the most important preventive aspects in the practice of dentistry for children. In the primary teeth, there is unpredictability of results from the traditional modalities of pulp treatment . Also because of the questionable toxicities of, the medicaments utilized; a considerable need to develop an alternative method of pulp tl;1erapy is considered an objective. A preliminary study on pulpotomy with CO2 l~ser radi~tion in permanent teeth of /’dogs have been rep8rted by Shoji et at (1985), No damage was found in the radicular pulp -immediately after radiation , This obviously raised the possibility of performing pulpotomies with CO2 laser without the damages associated with conventional chemical methods. |
