Abstract

One of theproblems that frequently face fruit trees in Egypt is how to control tetranychid, tenuipalpid mites. In addition to recommended chemical acaricides, predators play an effective role. Most of the well know efficient predators in orchards belong to phytoseiid mites with its ability to survive and produce on the presence of a few number of prey, also their short generation duration and easy of handling and rearing.
The present work was aimed to study the incidence, population dynamics and the effect of certain weather factors (temperature &R.H%) of both phytoghagous and predacious mites; some biological control aspects in rearing and store predacious mites ; in addition to the most suitable methods for control phytoghagous mites associated with four kinds of fruit trees spp.( Guava, Peach, Pear and Apple (two varieties of apple anna 106/111 and Apple anna 106); and the relation between chemical constituents of leaves and mite numbers.
