Abstract

In our study wereviewed the techniques of predicting expansion of aneurysms and methods to modify the natural history of aneurysm and to plan the timing for elective surgeries being safer than emergency We reviewed the anatomy of aortic root andascending aorta and its clinical implications on surgery We reviewed the role of atherosclerosis as recent studies deny its role as aetiologyin aneurysm We reviewed the different diagnostic modalities and highlighted the
superiority of CT especially multi slice CT Wereviewed the clinical outcomes and potential indications of three of the major techniques in aortic surgeries i.e. composite replacement of the ascending aorta and aorta root (Cabrol and Bentall) and the supra coronary conduit We specified the indications of each operation and viewed the clinical out comes of patients after each operation which are found to be comparably safe We compared our results versus the internationally published papers which appeared to be comparable with some concerns about Diagnosis strategies. Admission strategy and setup. ICU and Hospital stays Infection control Screening programs
