Abstract

The main aim of the Creative Dramatics program is to teach children to communicate in English in an educational environment that provides them with opportunities of exploration, spontaneity, and means to find excitement in learning.
The Creative Dramatics program is devoted to develop the communicative aural- oral skills of fourth graders. The program is designed in a way that permits introducing the linguistic content of units ten through eighteen of Hello! 1 in the form of Creative Dramatics techniques that are; songs, games, puppetry, role- playing and cartoon. It has been taken into consideration that the linguistic content units of the newly developed the Creative Dramatics program is
Adapting some units of Hello! 1 to suit the objectives of the Creative Dramatics program has been developed with a consideration that the units of the Creative Dramatics program are parallel to the selected units of Hello! 1. Difference can be only detected in the re- organization of the newly developed units.
The units of Creative Dramatics program are centered upon asking and giving information about four main topics that are; clothes, animals, family and time. It has been carefully taken into consideration that the new organization is introduced gradually.
Objectives of the Creative Dramatics Program

The Creative Dramatics program aims at using creative dramatics to develop some communicative aural- oral skills for fourth graders learning English as a foreign language (EFL).

• The Communicative Listening Comprehension skills are:
1- Discriminating contrasting sounds.
2- Distinguishing statement, question, answer and command intonation.
3- Identifying the meaning of core vocabulary.
4- Identifying the form of some grammatical structures.
5- Interpreting some functions
• The Communicative Speaking Skills are:
1- Production of sounds.
2- Using the basic intonation patterns in questions, answers, statements and commands.
3- Using core vocabulary.
4- Using of short statements, questions and commands.
5- Expressing functions.
