Abstract Aim of the work The aim of this work is to study the concentration of tumor necrosis factor-alpha in different stages of diabetic nephropathy and study the possible relationship between tumor necrosis factor-alpha and proteinuria in diabetic patients. Conclusion It is possible to hypothesize that the proinflammatory cytokines such as TNF-α may play a significant role in renal damage of patients with diabetic nephropathy. Recommendations Our study and results of the other studies should attract the attention to more searches for the role of TNF-α in the pathogenesis and progression of diabetic nephropathy also for its role in the development of ESRF. And more searches are needed to evaluate the beneficial effects of anti TNF-α drug in reduction of proteinuria in patients with diabetic nephropathy. |
