Abstract Cancer ovary is the most fatal gynecoloical tumour. Because of the silent nature of lesion and lack of symptoms especially in the early stages of the disease, cancer ovary is entitled with the term silent menace. Cancer ovary is diagnosed in more than 2500 women and constitutes more than 14.5000 deaths every in the USA.In Elahatby University Hospital cancer ovary accounts for 17% of cases of genital tract cancer. The identification of cancer biomarkers advances the possibility for early detection, better monitoring of tumour progression , and even targeting therapy. Such markers are especially needed for ovarian cancer , which is associated with advanced stage at presentation and poor survival. Although , CA 125 is , by far , the most useful biomarker for ovarian cancer , it is only limited to the evaluation of therapeutic effectiveness in patients diagnosed with ovarian cancer and in the detection of recurrent disease during posttreatment surveillance . |
