Abstract Aim of the work To determine serum P53 protein expression in children with acute lymphoplastic leukemia (ALL) and non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma (NHL) and detect the association between the level of P53 protein expression and clinical as well as laboratory parameters. Conclusion - P53 protein expression ascribes an important role in children with ALL and NHL. - P53 protein expression has a prognostic role for follow up cases with ALL and NHL. - No role for age or FAB classification in P53 protein expression in cases of ALL. Recommendations Demonstration of serum P53 protein level has an important role in children with acute lymphoblastic leukemia and non Hodgkin’s lymphoma and can be used as a prognostic factor for follow up these cases. So, trials and researches about P53 tumor suppressor gene and its protein products should be done. Further studies must be done to prove the role of P53 gene in management of malignancies as a gene therapy. |
