Abstract The aim of the study is to evaluate the role played by TRUS in the diagnosis of various prostatic diseases and to shed light in the role of TRUS in detecting any associated incidental bladder pathology in these cases. Conclusion: Sixty cases of this study were proved to be malignant ranged around 70- 90 cm. the most common sonographic pattern of these lesions was multiple hypoechoic focal lesion, so, multiplicity of focal hypoechoic lesions raise the possibility of these lesions to be malignant. In group IV bladder cancer was diagnosed in 22 cases out of 100 cases in this study. TRUS was superior to abdominal US in only one case with small basal bladder growth. From this work, TRUS proved its vital importance in the assessment of prostatic diseases; it has been recommended that TRUS, DRE, and PSA assay should be interpreted together in the diagnosis of prostatic carcinoma. |
