Abstract

The present investigation was carried out in the two successive seasons 1993 and 1994 on red roomy grapevines grown at vineyard located at mallawi district mania governorate, Egypt. The merits of this study was to define the potential effect of some natural organic materials namely green manure, sewage sludge, filter mud and farmyard manure as well as gypsum and magnesium sulphate with rock phosphate as a slow release phosphorus fertilizer in soil. These effects were evaluated by measuring the change in soil fertility, growth, and nutritional status berry set yield as well as physical and chemical properties of red roomy berries.
The experiment involved three factors namely: the type of substances which were used for increasing the availability of phosphorus in rock phosphate (six materials) the number of rock phosphate addition (once every year or once every two years) and levels of P in rock phosphate (0, 25, 40, 55, 70 and 85g, p. /vine).
The experiment was set in a split split plot arrangement of completely randomized block desing with three replicates, each consisted of one red roomy grapevine.
