Abstract
The present investigation was undertaken at shandweel Agriculture Research station, Agric. Res. Center , Egypt, during the three growing seasons : 1993/94,1994-95 and 1995-96.
The objective of this investigation was to study:
1- The genetic system controlling the characters under investigation.
2- General and specific combining ability effects for the studied characters .
3- The relationships among studied attributes.
Six faba bean , vicia faba L., varieties were used in this study included the four Egyptian local genotypes, i.e. Giza 2, Giza 402, Giza 674 and Rebaya 40, and two introductions, i.e. Reina blanca and N.A.112
