Abstract
The first chapter is the introduction and includes the electrochemical and establishment of the electric double layer and the mechanism of formation of surface charge on clay surfac,the effect of salts on the flocculation of the clay minerals the effect of inorganic ions as well as the effect of surface active substances on the electrokinetic potentials of clay minerals in aqueous solutions,and the various models for the adsorption of hydrolysable metal cations and surface active substances on clays and the influence ion concentration on the surface charge.
