Abstract

This work involves the preparation and characterization of choromethylated polystrene (CMPS ), CHLOROSULFONATED POLYSTYRENE (csps), polystyrene pendant sulfony1-N-thisemicarbazide (PSS-TSC), Polystyrene pendant sulfony1-N- pheny1 thiourea (PSS-PhTU) and Polystyrene pendant sulfony1-N- thiourea (PSS-TU). PSS-TSC,PSS-PhTU and PSS-TU were used to uptake the heavy metal ions such as Hg+2,Pb+2,Cu+2,Mn+2,Ni+2 and Cd+2 from wastewater.
