Abstract this research was conducted during 1987/1988 and 1988/1989 seasons in a banana grove lies on the eastern side of the river Nile opposite to minia town. The experiment. Started on the seventh ratoon of Cavendish banana plants and continued on the eighth ratoon of the same plants. The soil of the farm was silty alluvial with a water table not less than two meters. The experiment which was set in a completely randomized block design in a split-split- plot arrangement with three replicates included three factors, namely irrigation, fertilization and gibberellic acid each at different levels. Irrigation was applied to the plants when soil moisture fell to 55,70 or 85%from soil field capacity. Three levels of nitrogen(405,810 and 1215grams per stool) with or without phosphorus or /and potassium at 120 rams p2o5 and 1200grams k2o respectively per stool. |
