Abstract
A Field experiment was executed at Experimental Farm , Faculty of Agriculture , Minia University during the two successive seasons 1997 / 1998 and 1998 / 1999 to study the response of two gladiolus cultivars , namely Rose supreme and White prosperity to some NPK fertilization and growth regulator treatments . Four NPK fertilizer combinations 9N0P0K0,N1P1K1,N2P2k2 and N3P3K3 ) and seven groth regulator treatments (Naphthalene acetic (NAA) at 25 , 50 , and 100 ppm Alar at 100 , 200 and 300 ppm and control treatment) were examined .
The amounts of N0N1N2and N3 were 0 , 150 300 and 450 kg / fed of ammonium natrate ( 33.5%) while , P0P1P2and P3 were 0 , 100, 200 and 800 kg / fed . of single calcium superphosphate ( 15.5P2O5 ) and those of K0K1K2and K3 were 0, 50 , 100 and 150 kg /fed of potassium sulphate ( 48.5 K2O) . This trial was set up in aplit plot design with three replicates, where the four NPK treatments occupied the mian plots and the seven groth regulatpr treatments assigned to the sub olots. The effect of the interaction between the two main factors , NPK fertilization and growth regulators was investigated .
