Abstract The subJect of Permanent Values In Architectural and Urban Design has• been of great i~erest to architects and urban designers since they have been in search for design values and principles creating a un•iversal language that achieves human perceptual and behavioral demands, and adapts environmental circumstances to human physical demands without losing regional character submitted frem harmony with nature in a certain si te. The thesis’ objective is searching for the principles of creating a successful design that achieves human and environmental demands,’ and that is universally perceived and understood independently of time, place, culture, technology and economIC or political systems. The thesis’ subject and methodology are presented in chapter 1. The main text is organized into three main sections, where section 1 (chapter 2,3,4) represents Perceptual and Aesthetical Values in Architectural and Urban Design, section 2 (chapter 5) represents Human Behavioral Values and section 3 (chapter 6,7,8) represents Physical and Environmental Values. The thesis IS ended by Conclusions and Recommendations (chapter 9). |
