Abstract
this study was carried out on 53 nurses providing care in the premature unit in ministry of health hospital and health insurance hospitals in port said city and in ismailia university hospital. the aim of this study is assessment of assessment of nurses knowledge and performance of nurses about the care f pre-term neonates (special disease). the data was collected through a structured questionnaire and evalution sheet (observation) relatrd to the are of premature neonate. the result, the majority of nurses in the study sample had inadequate knowledge and practice regarding care of premature neonates . the majoriy of nurses just implemented doctor order only. therevwas a statistically significant association between nurses’ knowledge and practice about premature care.
