Abstract
The aim of the present study is to evaluate the knowledge, attitude and practice of breast self- examination among females from urban and rural areas, and to study their acceptance to breast self-examination before and after health education program.
This study was conducted in two family health centers, family health center of Suzan Mubarak Menoufiya University Hospital in Manshat Sultan (represent the rural area) and the southern health center in Shebin El-kom city (represent the urban area).
The study included 217 females (111 from urban area and 106 from rural area). They were assessed by pre-designed questionnaire and checklist to evaluate their knowledge, attitude and practice to breast self-examination.
