Abstract
Despite the importance of the a g r i c u l t u r a l extent ion i n the progress of t h e a g r i c u l t u r a l development, t h e r e are many obsticals which stand against its roles. Hence, it was important to know some of ’ the rural organiza t i o n which may play an important extention r o l e and help the extention system i n its role. For t h i s purpose, it has been chosen four r u r a l organizations: the a g r i c u l t u r a l cooperative, the rural health centre, the r u r a l council and the r u r a l youth centre. So, the main purpose of t h i s study is to know the r o l e of each organization in t h e extention and the development a c t i v i t i e s . Also, the re1 ationship between some of the economic and social c h a r a c t e r - i s t i c s of the farmers and t h e i r information about it. This study was held i n the r u r a l council of Abu-Khanim, Sidi-Salem d i s t r i c t , Kafr El-Sheikh governorate . ,?he sample of questionnaire consists of 225 farmers (15% from the t o t a l number of farmers 1. The data was collected through meeting the farmers and interviewing them. The simple and multiple correlation c o e f f i c i e n t s as well as the p a r t i a l regression coefficient were used t o analyse t h e d a t a.
