Abstract The aim of this investigation was establishing a data base on the mechanical properties related to handling and milling and the relationship between these properties and the moisture content at range of 9% to 18% (w,b) for three new varieties of egyptian wheat grains including Giza –168, sakha-93 and banisuif-1. The study divided onto two main groups experiments ; the first group was procedure some physical measurement including dimensions (length, width, and thickness), bulk density, particle density weight of one thousand grains, dynamic angle of repose and static coefficient of friction with four materials surface ( rubber, plywood, galvanized iron and stainless steel). The second group experiments was procedure some mechanical tests including particle shear stress, article hardness, bulk compression and particle compression test. Statistical analysis was performed to obtain the regression coefficient between the studied properties and characteristics and the moisture content or grains. |
