Abstract Abdominal aortic aneurysm is a significant health care problem and conventional open aneurysm surgery is associated with considerable operative mortality because the operation is extensive and the patients often have serious co-morbidities. The advent of minimally invasive endovascular stent graft technique as an alternative treatment has radically extended the management options for AAAs patients. However, the endovascular repair has numerous complications recorded in 9% to 16% of patients. This essay discusses endovascular aortic aneurysm repair to increase the background of knowledge about it which is considered a new technique in Egypt, with emphasis on its complications. |
